State Assembly Science and Technology Education Day

In February 2001, LIMSAT Board member Dr. Fred Kruger and Director of Operations, Janet Tempel traveled to Albany with a LIMSAT exhibit to take part in a celebration of Science at the Governor Nelson D. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza. Also exhibiting were the New York State winners of the Intel Competition and the New York Hall of Science.  All exhibitors had been invited to attend by Assemblyman Towns (Brooklyn), the Chair of the State Assembly’s Science and Technology Committee and previous Chair Assemblyman Sweeney (Suffolk County) and were presented to the New York State Assembly.  Pictured here are Kruger and Tempel with an exhibit about radioactivity that includes a Geiger counter to demonstrate radioactivity present in certain objects.
