The Deep Freeze at ICON Convention

LIMSAT volunteer Chris Ryon, wearing his Vulcan ears, entertained a fascinated crowd at the ICON Convention at SUNY Stony Brook on Saturday, April 2nd.
Chris was assisted by Director of Operations Janet Tempel, who handed out 'free' tickets to our web site! Over 100 people stopped to see Chris freeze flowers and racquet balls, turn oxygen into liquid, and shrink balloons into the 'deep freeze.' The balloons were rescued to their original shape, but the rest of the 'victims' became shattered!

Students see Science Smatterings

Robert J. Osgood Intermediate School students have been visiting LIMSAT to see a smattering of science in some of the hands-on exhibits. Based on elementary physics principles, all of the exhibits require interaction and coming to conclusions. Students here are visiting the Weather Station, peering into the concave mirror, and Learning About Radioactivity!
