And Awaaaay We Go……..

LIMSAT has moved its demonstration site out of the RJO School in Kings Park where it has resided for the past several years. Over 8,000 people have come through its doors and enjoyed the hands-on science provided by LIMSAT through the funding of Vytra Health Plans, our lead corporate sponsor.  We thank the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mary De Rose for the opportunity and the support.

So, Where Did We Go?  Our exhibits have gone into temporary storage at Museum Row in Mitchel Field.  Our colleagues at the Cradle of Aviation Museum have given us storage space next to some pretty amazing airplanes that are waiting to move into the Cradle of Aviation Museum.  In the meantime, LIMSAT is planning to spiff up some neat space to open again in the late fall of this year.  We will keep you posted on the website and through advertising.

To accomplish our move to Mitchel Field, we were fortunate to have the generosity of a Kings Park neighbor, Plycon Van Lines.  Executive Secretary, Arthur Pliaconis cheerfully offered to take us to our new home for free!  All we had to do was pack up and be ready.  (More on that in “Students Pack LIMSAT To Go”).  With the expertise and muscle power of Big Jim, Bernie and Chris, the museum was moved onto the Plycon van, and off we went to our next stop.  Check out the photo story below.
